Frequently Asked Questions

Just send us an email, give us a call, or DM on social media with what breeds, quantities, and approximate week you want them. We will then put you on our waitlist and will contact you when they are ready. We never ask for a deposit or prepayment for chicks or hatching eggs picked up at our farm gate. 

Unfortunately, you cannot preorder these as they are in high demand and limited quantities. It is first come, first serve when they are posted to social media or through our enewsletter. 95% of our sales are chicks. The only time we have point of lay hens available is when we grow some out for ourselves and have extra that don’t make our breeding pens.  

Most of our chicks cannot be visually sexed at hatch. We do not vent sex chicks. Vent sexing needs to be done by trained professionals or chicks can be seriously injured or killed. We have some breeds that autosex at hatch with colour differences. All other breeds are sold as straight-run, which generally results in 50% male and 50% female.

No! We will take orders of two more more chicks (chicks need company!). Prices listed on the website are for orders of less than 10 chicks. For larger orders, we provide discounts. We hatch weekly and can accommodate orders as large as 150 chicks with the same hatch date. 

Unfortunately, no. Most of our sales are in one week old chicks, and the Calgary program requires chickens to be over 16 weeks old. We rarely ever have hens available at that age. If we do, they are first come, first serve and can’t be preordered. 

No, unfortunately we do not ship chicks. Chicks must be picked up at the farm gate. Occasionally we can arrange meetups in Lethbridge or Calgary at our convenience. 

Yes! We are experienced shippers and have shipped to almost every province in Canada. 

Yes, we can work with your transporter to arrange shipping of adult birds or goats at your cost.
